LET'S BUILD A BETTER BAINBRIDGE

Helpline House Capital Campaign

We're Building a New Home

Let’s build a strong foundation for a better Bainbridge. Helpline House has served Bainbridge Island for over 50 years, supporting one in ten residents. We offer food, counseling, and resources to those in need. However, due to severely limited space, we plan to expand our services to include youth counseling, support for seniors, and housing-sustainability programs, all highlighted in a recent Community Needs Assessment.

To meet the growing needs of the community, the Helpline House Board will construct a new building on our existing property at 282 Knechtel Way as our current facility cannot support program expansion.

The Need Continues to Grow

More people than ever are using the food bank due to higher costs of food, housing, and medical expenses. There is also a growing need for housing assistance, hidden poverty among older adults and working-class, and an epidemic of children requiring mental health support.

Support a Healthy and Whole Community.

Helpline House social services are a sanctuary for Bainbridge residents during hard times. We provide a safe place for community to flourish, an open door for neighbors helping neighbors, and a clear path through rapidly changing times.

Our services are free and everyone is welcome, regardless of the nature of need.

Crisis comes in many forms, and we're here to ensure our friends and neighbors have the support they need to thrive, whether that's nutritious groceries, a counseling session, or advice on finding a new place to call home.

Help us nurture a community built on respect and believing in human potential.

Our door opens to our social workers who are skilled therapists and case managers. We believe a healthy community involves tackling all kinds of problems, and our team works with the whole person to achieve this goal.

The Food Bank Door Opens to Additional Resources

  • Affordable Housing: Helpline House serves people who find themselves in need—your neighbor, barista, or a kid you used to coach.

  • Children’s Mental Health: The new facility will provide spaces designed to ensure youth in need of counseling feel safe and secure.

  • Senior Services: We find solutions that help families find resources that address the perils of aging and end-of-life planning.

Help Grow the Heart of the Island.
