Keeps Kids Going!

Project Backpack assists local Pre-K through 12th grade and some college students with essential supplies and a backpack for the first day of school.

All Year Around Financial assistance is available for eligible students needing back-to-school clothing, education-related, classroom tools, registration, graduation and/or enrichment program fees.

Michelle Hutchins saw a need in 2000.  She raised funds and donations to supply students with essential school supplies.  Michelle and Helpline House recognized that their coordinated efforts relieved stressed families with tight budgets. In 2002, Project Backpack became an essential program in our community.
