Adult Volunteer Opportunities

 

Food Bank

​

Food Bank Check-in-Desk Greeting walk-in guests, respectful hospitality and computer data entry, bagging groceries. Morning or afternoon shifts. Commitment: 6 months, 3.5 hours/week

​

Food Bank Operations Sorting and stocking donations, greeting donors, organizing and cleaning up the Food Bank. Morning, Mid-Day, or Afternoon shifts. Commitment: 3 months, 2-3 hours/week

​

Grocery Rescue Driver Picking up food from T & C or Safeway grocery stores and delivering it to the Food Bank before 10am. Commitment: 6 months, 2-3 hours/week

Seasonal

​

Project Happy Birthday Assist with upcoming birthdays for children under 18. Join and follow email instructions for appropriate gifts. Then, deliver unwrapped gifts by the due date to the front desk to fulfill a child's birthday wishes.

Project Backpack Organizing and preparing school supplies for distribution in late August.

​

Holiday Programs Organizing and preparing goods for distribution in mid-December.

 

Student Volunteer Opportunities

​

Food Bank Operations Rising freshman and high schoolers sort donations, lift, load, move boxes to stock shelves, and clean work zones. Opportunities: After school, Winter break, Mid-Winter break, Spring break, and Summer vacation.

​

Project Backpack Work behind the scenes in July and August, organizing and preparing school supplies for distribution.

​

Summer Helpers Family Volunteer Application

Tuesdays and Thursdays

in July and August

Parents or Guardians, sign up with your children ages 7 to 13 for a one-hour shift(s). 

  • Shifts are available 10-11 am and 2 –3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays

  • No more than two shifts per family, please.

  • Help sort food, repack bulk foods, and other tasks appropriate for kids.
