The economic fallout of COVID-19 will be staggering – small businesses ordered to shut down, neighbors with lost incomes falling further behind with rent and utility payments, emergency allotments for individual SNAP (formerly known as food stamps) benefits running out, and at-risk seniors facing continued social isolation.
Preparing for a changing environment is essential, and we need your help to ensure our Island Neighbors in need have enough food and resources during this challenging time. We need your help to bring food, help and hope to those most in need due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Food Bank Curbside Pickup
Staff is distributing boxes filled with perishables and non-perishables, including proteins, vegetables, fruit, pasta, and fresh foods for all ages. Helpline House is coordinating with Island Volunteer Caregivers to deliver food to the most vulnerable households and to keep our community fed.
Social Work Remote Services
Social workers provide access to resources by phone and online tools to support neighbors such as seniors living on their own to get support for essential services such as rental payments, food assistance, mental health care counseling, and so much more.
Your Donations will
Provide essential groceries to more high-risk households each week
Enable social work support to ensure vulnerable households access local, state, and federal resources
Continue connection to seniors living on their own
Bring loads of smiles and nutritious foods to children
Thank you for thinking of Helpline House's mission to stay healthy and stable to deliver food relief and financial resources to our Islander Neighbors.
